"My Dad doesn't mind me working in porn, as long as I'm not a journalist."

Jay surprised the crew of The Money Shot not because he appeared for the "Freak Show" "audition" in drag, but because he appeared without his trademark leather vest. That vest dates back to his days in the San Francisco BDSM scene where he started doing Dominatrix artwork.

"The adult industry actually helped me pull myself up out of the gutter. It showed me that I was employable and had skills (warehouse, data entry, mailroom), without judging my mistakes in the past."

He moved to Los Angeles, not for showbiz, but for love. One year later left him struggling, broken hearted, and worse, out of touch with the adult industry. Jay was an extra in several adult flicks, but didn't get back in the biz until an ex-roommate recruited him for AVN.

"A number of people don't realize how easy they have it in the industry. The cold hard reality is some of the same positions pay much less in the mundane sector, with less benefits. My last job was with a major bank for $7/hr, and they would only keep me part time."

Besides his small appearance in drag, Jay helped behind the scenes, and volunteered his cubicle for Bob's office set (there's very little difference). He feels it's a creative effort, and well worth the time. His work at AVN has inspired him to go further. Jay's learning Flash, and hoping to someday animate his erotic artwork for DVDs.
